Dcist one of our absolute fav DC blogs just used a photo of the Watermelon House for their photo of the day. Located at 1112 Q St in Logan Circle, the House is a DC landmark due to its rather unique paint job.

The fanciful paint job was actually due to a mistake. Owners Wade Wilson and Robert Banaszak painted their house a fire-engine red, but the sides instead came out the color of gross Pepto Bismal. Eww!! To alleviate the damage, they instead turned the side into a giant watermelon complete with seeds.

Stay tuned for an awesome cameo by the Watermelon House in in the upcoming season of OJBG!!! Tamsin, Libby, Rachel and Remi all journey past the House with their tutus and bikes.

Also, check out an old Washington Post article on the house and its owners.
