#TBT: Halloween Style

By Kathleen.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, so we know Halloween is precisely a week away from today, but if we waited until then to share, how could you steal any of our “awesome” costume ideas!? Plus, we’re participating in The DC Ladies Blogtober challenge, and today they’re calling upon us to release these devils. Most notably, I’ve come to realization that apparently I have a longstanding affinity for dressing up as some sort of animal. I’m not too sure what that says about me, but I’m trying not to infer too much about it. So, without further ado, here ya go…

Perhaps we can blame my animal attraction on my mom. After all, she did start me young.

The feline in me is really breaking out — check out that pose!

This one’s kinda hard to tell, but I was a peacock… the feather in hair is actually a full on bird.

Let us not forget that Minnie was actually a mouse, just a Disney-fied version.

I should note that I did take a brief (okay, perhaps longer) break from the animal stint, when I decided to be the ever classic witch for a few more years than one. My sister, true to youngest form, insisted on being the EXACT same thing as me. The notorious older child in me told her she wasn’t allowed to. Sure, she could dress up in witch garb, but if anyone asked, she was my assistant.

But, if you’re not too feeling too inspired by these options, we must put in another plug for Brightest Young Things’ costume guide, which featured our very own Otessa Ghadar. Don’t worry, we think it’s kinda creepy looking, too.

“This is my costume. I’m a homicidal maniac. They look just like everyone else.”

And, of course, we can’t forget to include ones from Otessa’s earlier years:

that's a mermaid, angry unicorn, and witch (I LOVED being witches...I was that more than once)
