Geek chic has been in and everyone’s wearing those bold, thick-rimmed glasses with large lenses, fitted pants, tweed jackets, and I’ve seen more and more guys wearing suspenders and cardigans. I’m not necessarily a fan of this faux geek chic look – I’d prefer someone to be smart, not just look the part. That being said, I have always been a fan of the schoolgirl look. It’s classic! For years, I was faithful to this look. I had plaid mini skirts galore, knee high socks and leg warmers for every day of the week, and wore suspenders with my pencil skirts and jeans.
What is so great about the schoolgirl look? It’s ultra feminine but pairs perfectly with the androgynous look. And it’s suggestive but not too sexy. The perfect combinations!
