Olympic Spice

By Joe:

This week marks the kick off to the 2012 London Olympics. Who isn’t excited for the Olympics, a competition that sparks a nationalism that is rarely seen, brings back old rivalries and creates new ones and showcases some of the best athletes of our time (fighting for their pride and their country)? Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will welcome the world to London and Sir Paul McCartney will entertain us with his legendary music, but let’s not forget what a lot of people are most excited about… (probably) everyone’s all time favorite girl band, who just happens to come from the 1990s – The Spice Girls, will reunite for the first time since 2008 to close out the games and send the world home.

I thought this would be a good time to “Spice Up Your Life” and look back at the group that will be wishing the London Olympics bon voyage. Here are some of their most notable songs:

Their First Single – “Wannabe”

Another hit from early in their career – “Say You’ll Be There”

Maybe the most famous – “Spice Up Your Life”

Another Christmas number- one – “Goodbye”

The Spice Girls became a cultural icon from the 1990s. So I wanted to know, who’s your favorite Spice Girl and why?
