Georgetown is known as one of DC’s high end shopping districts, a popular destination for 20 somethings to go bar hopping, and a scenic rout for walks along the potomac or though the historic neighborhoods. However, probably what attracts Washingtonians the most would be the extensive selection food. Georgetown restaurants range from quick fast food joints to extremely pricy sit down restaurants, in all different cuisines.
I’ve lived in this area all of my life, and I still haven’t made a dent in trying all the different places to eat in Georgetown. To be honest, I am also a creature of habit and I tend to go to the same 5 or 6 places. Lucky for us though, every year Georgetown hosts the Taste of Georgetown. Just about every restaurant sets up a tent and dishes out some of their most popular specialities, in hopes you’ll come back for more. If any of you are like me, this event will let you spread your wings a little, or a lot, and possibly find a new go to restaurant. There will be a number of live music performances and tents with free give-aways or activities. Also, for those of you who are lucky enough to be 21, check out the wine & ale tasting pavilion. This social event involves everyones favorite past time, eating and drinking, something we all shouldn’t miss.
