HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical
Let the sun shine into your weekend by making a trip to Foggy Bottom to see George Washington University’s latest and greatly anticipated production of Hair. I had the privilege of sitting in on rehearsals while shooting for a show I produce as a student at the university, and I can honestly say it is an absolutely wonderful performance. The singing and acting is right on point, the costumes are gorgeous, and the set is an exact replica of the Broadway production. The tickets are only $10 and rest assured you are getting 10x your money’s worth.
*Tip: Order your tickets online or arrive at least a half hour early to purchase tickets. The show’s opening night last night completely sold out. Also, check out the video I made for GWU’s television station covering all about the show here:
All hail the Mecca of Mexican food in D.C. The food is traditional and scrumptious and the prices fit into your pocket rather nicely. Although it is not exactly in the heart of D.C., it is truly worth the trek.
*Tip: Anything on the menu is good. Really, anything.
I hate to include restaurants that are on the pricier end, but The Source is so incredibly delicious, I must share it with all of you. One of Wolfgang Puck’s latest restaurants, it is nestled right next to the Newseum and boasts the most mouth-watering Asian Fusion entrees I have ever eaten. I ordered a burger and ever since, no burger can quite compare to what I tasted that day. Experience this cuisine for yourself- it’s just that good.
*Tip: Set aside a day and visit the Newseum after eating at The Source. It’s brand new and features a piece of the Berlin Wall and an entire gallery of famous Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, two of the many exhibits inside the building.
The gowns. The golden statues. The A-list stars. This Sunday. 8 pm. Watch.
*Tip: Take bets with your friends and family about who you think will take home the statue in each category. Winner gets ice cream.
