Meryl Wins Again: OJBG’s Oscar Review

 By: Samantha

Meryl Streep. Jean DuJardin. Christopher Plummer. Octavia Spencer. The Artist. Those were the big names heard on Sunday night at the 84th Academy Awards. Meryl shocked and surprised when she was named Best Actress for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, her third Oscar win to date and her 19th nomination. However, there was very little surprise when Octavia Spencer was called to the stage for her win as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Help. The dapper Jean DuJardin surprisingly beat out George Clooney for Best Actor in The Artist and Christopher Plummer became the oldest person in Academy history to win an Oscar when he won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film, Beginners. OJBG held it’s own contest for the Academy Awards and here are the winners:

If I were him, I would have done that too.

Best Speech

Meryl Streep

Eloquent, charismatic, and touching. Her speech gave every indication as to why she has the  biggest and most significant name in Hollywood. Watch the speech here:

Best Gown

Hands down, this one goes to Octavia Spencer. She looked classic, elegant, and stunning in her white beaded Tadashi Shoji gown which showed off all of her rockin’ curves and was a reminder to ALL what dressing for the Oscars is really about.

For the men, Tom Cruise takes the cake. What a dapper man. Katie Holmes, you are a very lucky woman.

Best Entourage

Sasha Baron Cohen and his team of two botoxed babes. His antics never end.

Most Scandalous

J. Lo’s wardrobe malfunction. Yes, it happened and there is photo documentation. Jenny from the Block, I think it’s time you start dressing your age and forsake the plunging necklines for a bit more modest trend.

Most Adorable

The dog from The Artist attended the Oscars. And it was an absolutely adorable dog.
