So this past weekend I was watching the Golden Globes which celebrate film and movies and fashion to a lesser degree. Watching all the presentations for the best picture award got me thinking of my favorite movies and the 90’s classic, at least to me, Clueless. I don’t know about anyone else but this film which was a great little parody of teenagers was one of the first films that I instantly loved and couldn’t get enough of. Based on the Jane Austen novel Emma the movie told the story of Cher Horowitz, a superficial and materialistic LA teen who loves match making and ends up falling for her half-brother, a young Paul Rudd. Alicia Silverstone plays the character to a tee, making you like Cher despite her goofy and often “clueless” behavior. If you haven’t seen the movie, go watch it now. Not only does it still hold up but is one of the best representations of the 90’s put onto film. Take a peek at the trailer to see what I’m talking about.
